Provincial Nominee Programs
Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program
Workforce, Express Entry and entrepreneur selection in PEI
PEI operates several employer-connected workforce streams, a provincial Express Entry route and an entrepreneur Work Permit Stream.
Program overview
Prince Edward Island’s worker pathways are closely connected to Island employment and employer demand. Some recruitment routes require employer authorization before an overseas job offer is issued.
PEI also operates an Express Entry pathway and a Work Permit Stream for entrepreneurs who plan to invest in and actively run an eligible Island business.

October 2026 Position
PEI issued 164 Labour and Express Entry invitations on October 16
On October 16, 2026, the PEI Office of Immigration issued 164 invitations under its Labour and Express Entry categories, bringing the 2026 total to 1,483 invitations. The previous round on October 7 issued 90 invitations. No Business Work Permit Entrepreneur invitations were issued in either round or in any of the 2026 rounds reported by the province. Invitations are not nominations or permanent residence approvals.
PEI states that it is currently prioritizing skilled workers in higher-demand sectors such as healthcare, trades, manufacturing and other key industries facing labour shortages. Individuals working in sales and service may not receive an invitation at this time. A listed pathway is therefore not necessarily open to every eligible profile at all times, and current selection priorities should be reviewed before an EOI.

October 22, 2026: PEI Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) endorsement changes
PEI currently accepts AIP endorsement packages only for healthcare, construction and manufacturing workers. Transport truck drivers (NOC 73300) are not being accepted under PEI AIP. Other eligible workers may consider a PEI PNP Expression of Interest, subject to separate PNP selection criteria.
PEI has soft-launched a modernized AIP endorsement Expression of Interest system. During the transition, designated employers may use either the new EOI process or the traditional submission route. Under the EOI route, an employer submits a separate profile for each candidate; PEI may invite a full endorsement application. An EOI is not an endorsement or approval.
Important distinction: AIP is a federal employer-driven permanent residence pathway with provincial endorsement, not a PEI PNP stream. Check PEI’s official AIP endorsement instructions before preparing an application.

Assess your Prince Edward Island nomination options
A province should be selected because your employment, experience, community connection or business plan genuinely fits—not simply because a stream appears easier.
